The University of Bolton is the largest provider of pre-service teacher training for further and higher education in the UK. We use your energy, enthusiasm, talent and skill and our excellent range of teacher training courses to develop your career.

In collaboration with our project partners Skills Solution (Churchgate Academy) and the Workers Educational Association, we will be launching a series of new part-time Initial Teacher Training courses during the next academic year. Development of these courses, which will be delivered largely online and supported by a series of ‘face-to-face’ days, has been funded by LSIS.

New online course

Starting in September 2012 (initially for in-service teachers):

  • Integrated Initial Teacher Training for Literacy & ESOL specialists (part-time)

Planned for later in the academic year:

  • Initial Teacher Training (Numeracy) (part-time)
  • Teaching Learners with Additional Needs (Teaching Disabled Learners) (part-time)
  • Initial Teacher Training (Generic) (part-time)

  • Initial Teacher Training (Literacy & ESOL) (full & part-time)
  • Initial Teacher Training (Numeracy) (full & part-time)

Level 5 CPD qualifications:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Teaching English (ESOL & Literacy) (part-time)
  • Level 5 Diploma in Teaching Mathematics (Numeracy) (part-time)
  • Level 5 Diploma in Teaching Learners with Additional Needs (part-time)
