Online basics is a free, easy to use course that aims to help people get started using computers and the internet.

Online basics includes five short modules, covering: how to use a mouse and keyboard, how to email, and how to search for information and stay safe online.

Online basics is funded through the Adult Safeguarded Learning budget and is also a fundable qualification on the QCF.

The evaluation of the Online basics pilot is now available to view on the BIS website. The results show that learners found the course useful and interesting, and there is evidence that it has a positive impact on continuing with learning and job prospects.
