Welcome to the Skills for Life Network E-News UpdateIn this edition of the update, we have further news on proposed changes to teacher training and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements for FE teachers. The recently published independent report into professionalism of the FE and skills workforce contains a recommendation that teachers in the FE sector should not be required to have a teaching qualification. The Government is now proposing that the regulations should be replaced by largely discretionary advice to employers on appropriate qualifications and CPD for their staff. A consultation on the proposals is now open, and will close on the 4th of June. See 'Teacher training - have your say' below. We welcome several new Members: Learning Unlimited, ICON Training, Abertay Training and the Academy of Vocational and Professional Training. Is your organisation a Member yet?
