To meet the condition of funding from the academic year 2024 to 2025, learners will need to study eligible qualifications for a minimum number of hours per week.

‘Spelling It Out, Making It Count’ investigates the current state of Functional Skills Qualifications in English and maths in the UK following their reform in 2019.

The pass rate for GCSE maths resits in England has fallen, with November's exam results showing 22.9% of maths entries were awarded grade 4 or above, down from 24.9% in 2022 and 26.9% in 2019.

The Government is investing up to £2m to ensure that all teachers in England will benefit from new tools powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) that will help them plan lessons and reduce their workloads.
