Coding and creativity in teaching
Developed to support EU Code Week, this free online course aims to help you understand the importance of integrating coding and computational thinking into your teaching, for any subject. The course is for beginners with no previous knowledge of coding.
EU Code Week is a grass-roots movement that celebrates creativity, problem solving and collaboration through programming and other tech activities. The idea is to make programming more visible, to show young, adults and elderly how you bring ideas to life with code, to demystify these skills and bring motivated people together to learn. In 2019 EU Code Week will take place between 5 and 20 October.
This year, teachers from all over Europe will have the unique opportunity to participate in the Deep Dive MOOC, organised by EU Code Week with the collaboration of the University of Urbino, in order to bring innovation to the classroom and get ready for EU Code Week 2019.
The Deep Dive MOOC is meant to help you become familiar with innovative tools and approaches such as visual programming tools, unplugged activities, robotics, tinkering, and making and coding for all subjects. The course will provide you with ideas, free training materials and resources available in 29 languages. Besides this, you will also learn what Code Week is and how to participate in this initiative and have the opportunity to join a community of like-minded teachers. No previous experience or knowledge on coding needed.
