Employment & Skills Convention 2020

Thursday 9 July, 9.45 - 11.45am

Online, free of charge

The Employment and Skills Convention 2020, delivered by the Learning & Work Institute, will focus on how we can get Britain back to work in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. It will aim to address key issues, including:

  • How can we reverse the rise in unemployment and help people back into decent work?
  • What can we do to prevent youth unemployment and a long-term scarring impact on young peoples’ opportunities?
  • What role can skills play in the recovery?
  • How can we prevent a deepening of regional inequalities, and drive a levelling up after the crisis?

The audience will include policymakers from central and local government and devolved authorities; employment and skills providers; employers, charities and trade unions; policy experts and other stakeholders.
