 | Skills for Life Network E-News Update | 2 Dec 2008 |
| Welcome to the Skills for Life Network E-News Update
You'll see that the Learning and Skills Council grant letter and Statement of Priorities have recently been published. The sections on Skills for Life emphasise the need for a renewed effort on numeracy, and a refocus on provision towards what people need to help them find work and also progress in work. You can find out more and access the documents from the article.
The Vital Link libraries and literacy programme are looking for your ideas on how to use the Quick Reads titles published so far. More info on this and on the Six Book Challenge 2009 in the article below.
Also in this edition of the update, you can find out more about the support for teacher training available through membership of HUDCETT.
Finally, if your organisation is based in West Yorkshire, do take a look at the information on the professional development opportunities available through the Provider Train project.
Happy surfing!
