In this edition of the update, we have information on top up funding for the new ESOL qualifications.

We also have news of a continuation and strengthening of the bursary scheme for those looking to train to teach English or maths in the education and training sector. In addition, after two years' service, those who undertake specialist training in teaching learners with special educational needs can also now receive a 'Golden Hello' worth up to 10,000. Bursary Scheme Extension Announced
Skills Minister Nick Boles has announced that the bursary scheme for graduates to teach maths and English in the education and training sector will be continued and strengthened, with graduates with a 1st in maths now able to access a 25,000 bursary (up from 20,000 previously).
