You'll see that your feedback is sought on the draft revised standards for literacy and numeracy. The questionnaire will remain open until Monday 25th of July. Do also act quickly if you would like to have your say on the draft ESOL Strategy for England; the closing date is the 17th of July.

ESOL Strategy for England
NATECLA has put together an online consultation in the form of a short survey for teachers, students and anyone else affected by ESOL policy to complete. The on-line consultation runs until the 17th of July, so do act quickly if you would like to have your say!

Maths and English Functional Skills Reform Programme
The Functional Skills Reform Programme continues, following the end of the Provider Survey, with the publication of draft revised standards for literacy and numeracy. You are invited to feedback on these revised standards, the questionnaire will remain open until Mon 25 July. A second draft will then be developed and be available from 1 - 12 August 2016 for further consideration and feedback.

Technical education overhaul unveiled by Skills Minister
A report into technical education by an independent panel, chaired by Lord Sainsbury, has recommended simplifying the current system so technical education is provided through 15 high-quality routes, with standards being set by employers. All technical routes will build in English, maths and digital skills, according to employers' needs, and will set standards of excellence that are every bit as demanding as A levels.
