Welcome to the Skills for Life Network E-News Update

In this edition of the update, you'll find information on collaborative development grants to support Outstanding Teaching, Learning and Assessment (OTLA) in the North East and Cumbria. Funding is also available for an additional OTLA project, which will be focused on teaching approaches for the reformed Functional Skills (maths and English) in preparation for the new qualifications to start in September 2018.

The closing date for applications is the 27th of February, so do act soon if you wish to apply. Full details below.

Adult education funding August 2017 to July 2018
The Skills Funding Agency has published draft adult education funding and performance management rules for August 2017 to July 2018, which will apply to all providers of education and training who receive adult education budget funding.

Foundation Online Learning
Foundation Online Learning, the online learning hub from the Education and Training Foundation, gives you access to a whole range of professional development and training. The resources are free of charge and include English and maths self-evaluation tools, and a course to help you improve the teaching of maths and English.

Literacy score - mapping literacy need across England
The literacy score is a new measure of literacy vulnerability developed by the National Literacy trust and Experian. Together they have created constituency literacy rankings which measure literacy need in every electoral ward and in each parliamentary constituency in England.
