With key information and resources, the site is designed to help post-16 learning providers, practitioners, leaders and managers to recognise their key role in improving outcomes for learners with special educational needs and disabilities.

SEND Professional Development Lead programme

SEND Professional Development Lead programme
London, Friday 24th March and Kidderminster, Friday 31st March. The SEND Professional Development Lead programme will support the capacity of our sector to improve outcomes and life chances for young people aged 16 - 25 with SEND. This one day course is designed to equip participants as Professional Development Leads who will cascade the new L5 SEND programme to colleagues in their organisations, over three structured CPD sessions. All participants will be provided with the full resources for the new L5 programme.

Initial Teacher Education report published
The Education and Training Foundation has published its third annual report on Initial Teacher Education (ITE). This looks at the 2014/2015 academic year. It is clear that people often undergo ITE as part of a career change, or adding teaching to an existing technical profession.

RaPAL Conference 2017: UK Literacies in a Global Context
RaPAL represents practitioners, learners and researchers in the field of adult literacies in the UK and around the world. The next RaPAL conference will be held on Saturday the 24th of June from 9:30 to 16:30 at The Quaker Meeting House, 22 School Lane, Liverpool L1 3BT (less than half a mile from Liverpool Lime Street station). The deadline for the call for Workshops/ Papers is the 18th of April.

Register of apprenticeship training providers
The Department for Education (DfE) and the Skills Finding Agency (SFA) have published a new register of apprenticeship training providers. To be eligible to deliver apprenticeship training for apprenticeships that start on 1 May 2017, or after, organisations must be listed on the register of apprenticeship training providers (RoATP).
