Are you a teacher of maths or English functional skills in the FE and Training sector? If so, make sure you check out the Level 5 courses on offer from the Education and Training Foundation, the expert body for professional development and standards in the sector.

Starting in October, these 10-week online courses have been designed to develop your skills, and provide solutions to address concerns around progress in post-16 maths and English attainment.

  • Teaching Maths Functional Skills will equip you with the skills needed to be effective functional skills maths teachers. We’ll show you how to contextualise and apply maths to vocational learning to develop learners’ problem solving and decision-making skills.
This course starts on Thursday 6 October from 3-5pm – book now.
  • Teaching English Functional Skills will support practitioners working with functional skills English learners. You’ll learn how to use active approaches to develop learners’ skills in speaking, listening and communicating, and reading and writing. We’ll show you how to contextualise and apply English to vocational learning and meaningful everyday situations.
This course starts on Tuesday 4 October from 3-5pm – book now.

The Level 5 courses are £350 per person, with discounts available for onsite group bookings.

Don’t take our word for it, see what previous participants of our offer said:

  • “Doing tailored training has allowed me to examine which areas I could give more thought to, which has developed my teaching and how I think about the way I teach.” English programme participant
  • “While learner outcomes are a long-term thing, I have already seen greater engagement among students and better outcomes [for them].” Maths programme participant
