Dates for your diary for those on the 3-day CPD programme

The team are busy planning day 3, scheduled for November 2018. Dates are as follows with a 9.00 for 9.30 start and 3.15pm finish – please do make your travel arrangements based on these timings:

  • Cohort 1: Friday 9 November, IBIS Birmingham (for those who participated in the 14 & 15 June residential)
  • Cohort 2: Friday 16 November, Novotel Leeds (for those who participated in the 21 & 22 June residential)
  • Cohort 3: Friday 23 November, IBIS Birmingham (for those who participated in the 28 & 29 June residential)

We’re really looking forward to seeing you on day 3! To help the day go smoothly as possible please do register your place using the eventbrite invitation Alison sent out on Thursday morning (6 September). Thanks to the 56 APs who have already reserved their place; responses were fast! For those yet to do so please do respond to the invite asap so you don’t miss out. It’s also a big logistical help for us as we finalise venue numbers.

Programme Video

Have you spotted yourself on the ‘Developing Advanced Practitioners’ video which was shot in Birmingham, cohort 3? Do take a peek. We have several colleagues featured, including Shelley Wilson from Westminster Kingsway College and John Hindmarsh from Capital City College Group.

Remember the Thinking Environment?

The Thinking Environment was very, very well received across all three cohorts, with Advanced Practitioners keen to try it out with Staff teams.

Maria Brand from Wirral Lifelong Learning Service took a different tack and used the Thinking Environment with her learners in a family learning setting with fabulous results. We are delighted to bring you Maria’s blog. We’d love to have lots of blogs, so please message Lou Mycroft or let your mentor know if you’re up for writing something and would like some help with editing.

Lou has also created an introductory video to the Thinking Environment for one of our APs, Lynn Taylor. Lynn plans to use it as part of a staff development session. Please feel free to use the video if it fits with your CPD plans (and do let us know you how get on!).
