Evaluation of the Advanced Practitioner Programme

Skills for Life Network

The Education and Training Foundation (ETF) are looking to carry out an independent evaluation of the collaborative projects, CPD course and community of practice.

The evaluation will compare the strands of the programme to establish whether any particular strand was more successful than others in meeting the intended outcomes (taking into account that some of you will have participated in several strands whilst others will have only taken part in one).

As the AP toolkit is available to everyone, the evaluation will also consider to what extent this has contributed to meeting the outcomes alongside the other inputs provided to you in the individual strands.

Evaluation

The evaluation will also aim to make recommendations, including:

  • How the delivery model/content of the strands can be further developed to improve delivery and impact;
  • What additional support may be needed by Advanced Practitioners working in the further education and training sector;
  • Further work the ETF might do to evaluate the longer term impact of this programme.

How might you be involved?

The ETF will be looking to gather new qualitative data from you. This will include interviews and/or focus groups with a sample of at least 25 collaborative project, 12 community of practice and 18 CPD participants. They’ll also be carrying out some in depth case studies and post-programme surveys.

The evaluation activity is due to start in October, and we’ll keep you posted on progress. Your support will be much appreciated.
