External evaluation of the AP Development Programme

Skills for Life Network

You will remember that ICF were commissioned last year to evaluate the whole Advanced Practitioner Development Programme.

The purpose of the evaluation was to provide an independent assessment of the benefits and impact from the programme. Here are some of the findings:

  • Enhanced understanding of the AP role and its strategic positioning
  • Greater understanding of the holistic nature of APs
  • Improved visibility of APs
  • APs better equipped to shape approaches to improving TLA
  • APs confirmed as enablers and facilitators
  • New ways of working developed by APs (with curriculum and programme managers).

ICF has been recommissioned by the Education and Training Foundation to undertake the evaluation of Year 2 of the Advanced Practitioner Programme. The slides below tell you more about this.

The evaluation team can be contacted via colin.howat@icf.com or aisha.ahmad@icf.com
