#StudyGood is guided by the Study Programme Focus Group, which met for the first time to review our reimagined programme on 12th November. The group exists to provide a forum for sector colleagues to share practice in the design and delivery of study programmes; it’s also an important chance to work together in a solution focused way.
The Education and Training Foundation, which hosts the Focus Group, is keen to invite input into programme design and facilitate networking between colleagues. Themes for development throughout the year focused on:
- Developing Study Programmes to build a focus for learners that encompasses maths and English
- Ensuring that Study Programme provision is consistent across the whole organisation
- Embedding maths and English in the workplace with employers
- Implementing the Education Inspection Framework
One of the talking points of the day was the potential for FE Colleges and Independent Training Providers to collaborate, share and disseminate effective practice.
This was touchconsulting ltd’s first engagement with the Focus Group and they listened with interest to our plans for the year. From our point of view, it was helpful to hear stories of what works well and is less effective in Study Programme provision. At the invitation of the Chair, participants also helped shape the focus and style of upcoming meetings.
A big thanks to all Focus Group participants for contributing so generously to our learning. The next of these national networking opportunities is 29th January 2020, when Focus Group members will meet in Birmingham. Please click here for full details and to book a place. The more the merrier!
