The Education and Training Foundation has a wide range of courses to support leaders, managers and practitioners working with learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Our three national Centres for Excellence in SEND offer expert support for leaders, managers and practitioners who wish to put learners with SEND at the centre of their organisation. Managers and practitioners can tap into the support offered by each Centre’s Communities of Practice (CoPs). These CoPs are open to anyone working in Education and Skills with an interest in improving experiences for learners with an inclusion need. The focus of the CoPs is to share and identify effective practice and to work collaboratively as a community of professionals to address challenges.

Our CoP sessions cover a wide range of topics. Examples are:

  • Technology for all: Using the accessibility features of Microsoft packages in curriculum delivery for the benefit of all learners and employees
  • An introduction to RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievement).
  • Technology for all: Assistive Technology

For an overview of events, visit the SEND area of our website.

As part of our Community of Practice offer, we have produced a number of resources and delivered a number of free training sessions. You can find out more about these here.
