Speakers will be:
Judith Swift, Union Development Manager at the TUC who will discuss the current relevance and impact for individuals and employers of providing learning opportunities for ESOL learners at work.
Celia Roberts, Senior Research Fellow at King’s College London in the Department of Education and Professional Studies will give us the results of research ‘Language, ethnicity and discrimination in the British job interview’
Sharon Simpson from Asset Skills will give us information on the role of the Sector Skills Councils. She will talk about the work of Asset Skills and how they are linking into the current initiatives such as Train to Gain.
In the afternoon there will be workshops from:
John Sutter, Senior Lecturer at LLU+, ESOL division
Shan Rees, Head of Division – Community and Workforce Development at LLU+
Pip Kings, The London LSC Regional Head for ESOL
