An update on the Big Lottery Fund 2006-2009 and on support opportunities for Family programmes

The Big Lottery Fund will give out more than £2.3 billion between 2006-2009 and the list of new programmes has now been decided. Most of the new programmes will be launched between Autumn 2005 and Spring 2006.

Programmes have been identified following two public consultations, and more detailed announcements about programmes in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will be made later in the year.

There is a Community Learning Budget of up to £140 million. This will be launched by June 2006.

The Family Learning programme will focus on wider family issues, family relationships and support activities that will improve numeracy, language and literacy skills or accreditation.
