The application closing date for the Changing Lives programme is a fast approaching, with a deadline of 23 March 2007. The programme provides funding for homeless people to pursue a vocational goal with the aim of eradicating the financial barriers that prevent homeless people from moving into employment. The activities on offer not only raise confidence but improve skills and enable homeless people to live independently and contribute to society.
Changing Lives is a community investment programme, supported by Barclays as part of the banks on-going commitment to social and financial inclusion. It was established to provide individuals who have experienced exclusion through homelessness with a chance to take control of their lives again. The programme aims to empower homeless people to build their confidence and gain or regain the essential skills necessary to move forward towards self-help, independence and work, and a permanent move away from homelessness.
