Examples of Good Practice in Skills for Life Provision

Inspection & Quality
Skills for Life Network

More examples of good practice in Skills for Life provision are now available from the Excalibur Good Practice database on the Adult Learning Inspectorate website

In January 2004 the Adult Learning Inspectorate (ALI) launched a new service called Excalibur, which aims to help improve the quality of post-16 education and training by providing examples of good practice in provision across the range of subject areas.

The service offers detailed case studies of good practice, as previously highlighted in ALI inspections. The case studies contain pictures, animations, downloadable documents (used by the featured providers), video footage of learners and providers, contact details for the provider in the example and suggestions for possible adaptation by others irrespective of the inspection context. New examples are added every six weeks. You can also register for email updates.

To view the latest examples of good practice in Skills for Life provision, go to www.ali.gov.uk and go to the Excalibur section. You’ll currently also find a new ‘spotlight’ section for first time users of the Excalibur database to guide you through the process.
