For an overview of ICT Skill for Life and of progress to date, you may find it useful to look at the following:
Â
ICT Skill for Life Standards
The ICT standards are available on the QCA website.
Â
Action research project
The NIACE Action Research Project to establish a curriculum and delivery of ICT Skill for Life recently came to an end. All the relevant documents, including the Draft Curriculum, the Project Report and a three-page Summary of the Report can be found on the NIACE website. A key finding is that poor literacy, language and numeracy skills can also be a major barrier to developing ICT skills.
Â
ICT Skill for Life Pathfinder Project
The Action Research Project is being followed up by the 2 year DfES Pathfinder project, managed by KPMG. The ICT Pathfinder Project aims to develop and pilot approaches to delivering the ICT Skill for Life curriculum in a variety of settings. The Project will run until Autumn 2007. If you would like more information about what is planned, or feel you would like to contribute to the developing strategy, contact the DfES at info.ictsfl@dfes.gsi.gov.uk.
