A free four day programme for Subject Specialists wishing to become involved in the delivery of L3 Subject Support programmes

Programme Dates: 22nd February to 22nd March 2006

‘As part of an LSC initiative to capacity to build at Level 3, we have developed the following programme at the University of Northumbria. This course is free to organisations as it is funded by the LSC.

The aim of the course is to encourage accredited Skills for Life teachers to become involved in the delivery of the L3 Subject Support Specifications, within their organisations, by introducing them to the knowledge, skills and issues involved.

This 4 day programme will be delivered one day per week on University premises at Coach Lane Campus. Course dates 22nd February to 22nd March 2006.

Entry Requirements

It is expected that entrants to this programme will be holders of a Literacy/Numeracy Subject Specialist certificate and hold a recognised post-compulsory teaching qualification.

Programme Overview

Delivered one day a week with a break of one week between days 3 & 4.

22/02/06 Day 1: Introduction to programme and difference between
Level 3 and Level 4.

1/03/06 Day 2: Guest Speaker & Interpreting & Planning from
Subject Specifications

08/03/06 Day 3: Guest Speaker & Planning and preparing to deliver
& Toolkit

22/03/06 Day 4: Group presentations & The Learning Cycle
