New Skills for Life programmes to raise quality

QIA is commissioning a number of new programmes to help raise quality and boost learner achievement in Skills for Life

The programmes will include:

  • a Skills for Life personalisation and learner persistence project
  • a review of the Skills for Life curriculum, including work on the pre-entry curriculum framework
  • a project to improve teaching and learning for learners with learning difficulties and disabilities
  • further development of the whole-organisation approach
  • development and evaluation of assessment materials
  • mainstreaming of ‘Move On’, ‘Move Up’ and ‘Test the Town’ approaches
  • managing Skills for Life publications and resources relating to quality and teaching

Programmes currently available include:

  • Skills for Life Quality Initiative
  • Roll-out of dyslexia training, phase three
  • Skills for Life Whole Organisation Approach project, phase one
