New to ESOL resources

The New to ESOL resources for volunteers, teachers and trainers supporting pre-Entry level ESOL learners are now available on the Excellence Gateway website.

The resources were funded by the Department for Education and the Home Office under the government’s New to ESOL initiative.

Often, Entry 1 ESOL classes may be considered unsuitable for learners new to ESOL because they may have no or very limited literacy in any language and/or have no knowledge of the Roman alphabet and numbers. These materials aim to address some of the challenges faced by those looking to support these learners.

Find out more about the New to ESOL resources on the Excellence Gateway website.
