Supporting deaf ESOL learners

About

This resource from Education Scotland provides ideas and approaches to ensure that deaf ESOL learners are effectively supported in their learning journey.

The guidance focuses on some of the supportive practices that practitioners have adopted in working with deaf learners from other countries in an ESOL learning context.

Materials were adapted from SQA ESOL learning support materials. The guidance is divided into sections including general advice, examples of learner profiles (developed from the case studies) and a focus on one profile and the strategies and approaches taken.
