Practice National Adult Literacy and Numeracy Tests

About

An overview of the practice National Adult Literacy and Numeracy Tests, the ReadWritePlus resources and the Move On website.

Practice National Adult Literacy and Numeracy Tests

The practice National Adult Literacy and Numeracy Tests were used to help learners to prepare for the National Tests in Adult Literacy and/or Numeracy, and for the tests for Key Skills Communication and Key Skills Application of Number. The National Adult Literacy and Numeracy tests are no longer available as they do not reflect the requirements of the new curriculum for maths and English. You can, however, access the legacy versions here

DfES Readwriteplus resources

These resources were developed over the period 2001 to 2010, to support the national Skills for Life Strategy and other Skills for Life developments. They are now available as follows:

  • The readwriteplus legacy website can be accessed here

Move On

This website was set up to support the national Move On Up Programme, which aimed to help adults brush up their basic skills and take the national tests. Eleven practice tests were developed as part of the National Test Toolkit. These were previously made available via the Move On website. You can view a PDF version of the Move On pack here
