Key Skills and Skills for Life – 10 January 2006 – Exeter

Following the success of the Skills for Life Quality Initiative key skills training for Skills for Life practitioners in 2005, the Key Skills Support Programme would like to offer further training in key skills for those involved in delivering Skills for Life.

This day is particularly suited to those who would like to know more about the implementation, delivery and assessment of key skills, as well as the benefits that key skills can provide to the learning experience.

Key Skills and Adult Literacy – 18 January 2006 – London
Young people are often not succeeding as well as they might on their programmes because of poor communication or literacy skills. Changing this means ensuring that the teaching of communication and literacy leads to real improvements in learners’ understanding and performance.

Key Skills for Managers – 25 January 2006 – London
How are you managing the skills agenda?

Skills, including key skills, lie at the heart of government policy, as is evidenced by both the 14-19 White Paper and the National Skills Strategy White Paper. Skills development is crucial to the government’s employability agenda. This has implications for managers re curriculum design, funding, quality assurance and staff development – implications that this event will explore and address.

ICT – What are the Levels? – 31 January 2006 – Birmingham

Since key skills were introduced to Curriculum 2000, there has been a huge increase in the number of students studying Information and Communication Technology.

The demand for confident and competent staff to deliver ICT has never been higher.
