Curriculum and Assessment Review

The Government response to the newly published Curriculum and Assessment Review recommends the introduction of new level 1 preparation for GCSE qualifications for English language and for maths at 16-19.

The Curriculum and Assessment Review has recommended that the new qualifications will be designed to align fully with the English language and maths GCSE curriculum, and will enable more students to make progress towards achieving level 2 in these GCSEs.

The Review also includes a commitment to streamlining the hundreds of different qualifications at 16-19 and replacing it with a clearer offer of level 2 qualifications and a simple framework of A levels, T Levels and V Levels at level 3.
