A new site that aims to help educators, literacy organisations and people interested in literacy to share information, ideas and projects

On 4 October Google, in collaboration with UNESCO and the Frankfurt Book Fair Literacy Campaign (Litcam), will be unveiling a new literacy site at the Frankfurt Book Fair.

The site aims to help educators, literacy organisations and people interested in literacy to share information, ideas and projects. Users will be able to search for literacy related videos, books, scholarly articles and organisations, as well as set up literacy groups and blogs to discuss their work.

Google is uploading some of their own video footage to the site and is now inviting you to upload your own videos on anything literacy related. Click here to view the site.

To upload a video go to http://video.google.co.uk/videouploadform and follow the instructions. Google will host them for free and you can embed the videos on your own website. Make sure you write a description of your video, and mark the genre category "educational". You must also use the word "literacy" in the description to have it included on the site. You can add keyword labels after uploading your video to give people even more ways to find your video.

If you need further assistance, email Oliver Rickman at Google on oliverr@google.com
