Maths Teacher Development Groups


The Maths Teacher Development Groups are for Teachers of post-16 GCSE re-sits and functional skills maths, based in colleges and other post-16 settings.

They are a new form of collaborative professional development from the Centres for Excellence in Mathematics (CfEM) project.

Session topics include:

  • Motivating Learners: communicating that success is possible
  • Developing responsive teaching to meet learner needs
  • Using technology to develop mathematical understanding
  • Using context to develop mathematical understanding
