Year 3 of the #APConnect Advanced Practitioner Professional Development Programme, commissioned by the Education and Training Foundation and delivered by touchconsulting, got underway in 2020.
On offer were three brand new blended modules, aimed at experienced APs looking to develop their practice and to connect with a vibrant community of like-minded professionals:Â
Using the Thinking Environment – Advanced Practice
Designed and delivered by Lou Mycroft and Bryony Croft, this blended module is a cornerstone of the Advanced Practitioner Professional Development Programme, and focuses on practising the facilitation of applications such as thinking pairs, dialogue, timed talk, thinking rounds and time to think councils – with lots of opportunities to practise, practise, practise!
Using Developmental Observations – Advanced Practice
For APs keen to re-examine observations through a formative, and not performative, lens – this is a must. The module, designed and delivered by Professor Matt O’Leary and Joanne Miles, helps you explore expansive and practical ways of using observations developmentally. There is a big focus on developing the coaching beliefs, behaviours and skills that underpin such an approach.
Leading AP teams – Advanced Practice
Aimed at managers leading AP-type teams, this module focuses on how to create and sustain the conditions for AP teams to thrive. It enables participants to explore their vision, resources and skills investment in APs. Delivered by Joanne Miles with a keynote from Professor Matt O’Leary.
#APConnect: Developing APs (modular) & Manager Mentoring CPD Programme
A unique in-house blended modular programme for AP-type teams, plus wrap around support for commissioning manager/s. The focus is on developing the knowledge, behaviour and skills of APs so they can provide effective peer-to-peer support and lead quality improvements.
