Skills for Life Network

Discover new materials and approaches to support the teaching and learning of functional skills maths and English

ETF logoThis 90-minute interactive webinar, developed and delivered by ccConsultancy and partners, will introduce you to a new set of highly engaging materials produced by Pye Tait Consulting on behalf of the Education and Training Foundation. Places are limited so book now to make sure you don’t miss out!

The materials are appropriate to a range of contexts, including 16-19 learners, apprentices, adult returners, learners in prisons and ESOL, and can be used in both high and low-tech teaching environments. They aim to illustrate some key teaching strategies in maths and English support and to provide a wide range of ideas for lessons that can be adapted for different models of support (discrete, embedded, workplace, 1:1 support).

The aims of the interactive webinar are to:

• introduce the purpose, content and structure of the new functional skills maths and English subject materials

• highlight some of the key teaching approaches modelled in the materials

• help you make the most of the materials if you are planning to work through them on your own

• suggest some useful links for further reading

The webinar will also help you make the most of the one day or two day CPD programmes which will enable you to explore the materials in detail.

This is a great opportunity to develop and enhance your professional practice, and we expect demand for places to be high. For details of dates, to find out more and to book your place, click here
