Thinking Through Mathematics is now available online and more…
A date for your 2010 diary – the Spring network for mathematics/numeracy in the North East is being held on Tuesday 16th March 2010. The subject coaching networks continue as part of the LSIS STEM teaching and learning programme. It’s a free one day CPD opportunity to share practice and experience activities together in a supportive network with lots of ideas to take away and use with your learners. Contact Viv Brown to book a place or influence the planning with topics you would like to be included.
The Excellence Gateway is building a STEM page with links to information, resources, CPD etc for Science, Engineering and Mathematics. Look at the STEM page to find out more about STEM, why it’s important and how the LSIS STEM programme could help you with networks, subject learning coaches, resources and funding for practitioner action research projects.
Good news from the NCETM – Thinking Through Mathematics is now available online. It’s designed for teachers of Adult Numeracy working with learners from Entry Level through to Level 2. There are links to the materials and also suggestions of how to integrate this into your own reflective learning as part of your professional development. To access this item you will need to log on to the NCETM portal at www.ncetm.org.uk. It’s worth it just to access this substantial teaching and learning resource with session plans, ready to use activities and ideas to use for CPD for yourself and with your colleagues.
