Key recent NIACE documents: Learning Through Life and NIACE Policy Impact Report 2009
Learning Through Life
Learning through Life is the outcome of the Inquiry onto the Future of Lifelong Learning. The inquiry began with the premise that the right to learn throughout life is a human right. The vision is a society where learning plays its full role in personal growth and emancipation, prosperity, solidarity and global responsibility. The result is a proposed strategic framework to achieve this vision, underpinned by ten concrete recommendations. The summary report is free to download and the full report is available to purchase. However, in addition to this there are a range of supplementary papers that may be of interest. The sector papers might be of immediate interest, but there are also thematic papers that will be of interest too. All of these are free to download from the Inquiry’ website.
NIACE Policy Impact Report for 2009
The NIACE Policy Impact Report for 2009 indicates the wider impact of adult learning. Whilst the whole document will be of interest, the "facts" sections in each area may be of particular interest to busy practitioners as they highlight the positive impact of learning; the other sections indicate what NIACE still wants.
NIACE has responded to a number of recent publications and policy documents, which may be of interest. Examples include the Skills Investment Strategy and the CBI report on reforming skills funding. Details can be found in the news section of the NIACE website.
Finally please note that now is the time to be thinking about celebrating learning and making nominations for Adult Learners’ Week
