Training Needs Analysis pro-forma to help you plan Skills for Life teacher/supporter training and qualification routes can be found in the Resources section on the right.
The Skills for Life Individual Development Plan aims to help teachers/supporters (or intending teachers/supporters) self-assess against the Personal Literacy/Numeracy Skills elements of the Level 2, 3 and 4 Subject Specifications. It was developed to support learners on the LSC West Yorkshire Pilot Programme for the Certificate in Basic Skills Support in the Workplace. In this instance, those in the group who were aiming to undertake the Level 3 Literacy or Numeracy Subject Support qualifications self-assessed against the respective Core Curricula at Level 2.
The Organisational Training Needs Analysis was developed for the LSC Tees Valley Support Project for Basic Skills Teachers in the Work-based Learning sector. A version of this is now included as an example of good practice in the Skills for Life Quality Initiative Facilitator Training manual (LSC/CfBT).
