An update on the Quality Improvement Agency Skills for Life Improvement Programme

The Skills for Life Improvement Programme builds on the work of the Skills for Life Strategy through:

Workforce development

  • helping Skills for Life staff at all levels, in all learning settings, gain professional qualifications and continue to develop thinking, skills and practice.

A whole organisation approach to quality improvement

  • helping you be more effective in meeting the literacy, language and numeracy needs of all learners wherever they are within the organisation.

Innovation in teaching and learning

  • helping staff develop and share effective practice
  • helping you to refresh and strengthen practice to ensure learners engage, progress and achieve.

The Skills for Life Improvement Programme complements other QIA programmes, and will build on the achievements of the Skills for Life Quality Initiative. Development Advisers will offer practical help and guidance to refresh and strengthen teaching and learning practice in literacy, language and numeracy from pre entry to level 2, including provision for learners with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.
