Proposed revision to the Common Inspection Framework: analysis of responses to the consultation document

Some 47 colleges and 21 work-based learning providers responded to the consultation on the Common Inspection Framework (CIF). In total, there were 140 responses. Most who responded approved of changes allowing inspectors to make a more explicit judgement on overall effectiveness of provision. Respondents generally agreed with amendments to make the framework applicable to education and training pre-16 and to allow the inspection of children’s services.
