SEND Improvement Plan published

The Government’s SEND and Alternative Provision improvement plan and consultation outcome have now been published.

The SEND and Alternative Provision Green Paper, published in March 2022 alongside the Schools White Paper, set out proposals to deliver a generational change for a more inclusive system. Through a consultation process, the government heard from thousands of children and young people, families, those working in education, health, social care, and local government, as well as the voluntary and community sector.

The SEND and Alternative Provision improvement plan sets out the government’s proposals for a system that offers children and young people the opportunity to thrive, with access to the right support, in the right place, and at the right time, so they can fulfil their potential and lead happy, healthy and productive adult lives.
