The North East Teacher Educator Network is running a Train the Trainers event on 22nd June in Newcastle to roll out the delivery of the new Step Up to L3 Personal Numeracy Skills course.
The Step Up to L3 Personal Numeracy Skills course has been developed in the North East by the North East Skills for Life Teacher Educator Network, with funding from the LSC. This course was designed in response to research in the region last year that showed existing numeracy teachers were reluctant to undertake the level 5 Additional Diploma in Teaching Mathematics (Numeracy) in the Lifelong Learning Sector as they were not confident in their own numeracy skills at Level 3. The course leads to a 3 credit (30 hour) unit accredited through the Open College Network.
The course has proved to be so popular that seven cohorts are being run between March and July. If you are interested in delivering the Step Up to Level 3 course in-house then come to a Train the Trainers event to learn from the experiences of the pilots. Members of the development team will lead the session.
