About

Get Further exists to support students from disadvantaged backgrounds in further education to secure gateway English and maths qualifications that unlock opportunities.

Without GCSE English and maths, students are drastically more likely to drop out of education and struggle to progress to university or in the workplace. We’re recruiting dedicated tutors to deliver our innovative tuition programme for students, providing them with valuable extra support that would otherwise be out of reach.

We are the only non-profit tutoring organisation working exclusively with further education. We focus our efforts here because 70% of students studying GCSE English and maths in further education are from disadvantaged backgrounds. And further education colleges are severely under-funded.

Our tutors have a direct impact on the life chances of students – helping them to improve their skills and achieve key qualifications that open doors for future study and work.
