Communities of Practice (CoP)

The CoP strand of the programme has proved to be a vibrant network of AP development, even though it is fundamentally more self-directed.

Eight modules have been created within our Canvas platform to support delegates following this strand:

M1: Knowing Us, Knowing You

M2:Your Project

M3: Professional Standards

M4: Action Learning Sets

M5: Matrix of Opportunities

M6: Connecting APs Event

M7: Who are your people

M8: The Thinking Environment

71 digital badges have been awarded as APs complete each of these modules. There has been an impressive level of engagement in Action Learning Sets with 32 having taken place between June and November. Between 38 – 50 APs have attended multiple meetings (80% of Sets meeting between 3 and 5 times and 20% meeting 1 or 2 times). It’s impressive because all the action learning sets have taken place virtually using web-conferencing platforms such as Zoom, Big Blue Button etc, enabling APs to meet from from across the country!

“I think as an Adult and Community Learning provider within a Council we are often out of the loop with innovative practices and opportunities to network with practitioners from Colleges, so I have really valued this experience, support and ideas from such a lovely team of professionals. I’ve been sharing our activity with my Line Managers, Sean and Jean, and they’re very eager for our service to continue this work as they can see the value and are also wanting to move the service forward in a more developmental way.

Kindest regards,

Emma”
