About

Looking for resources to help you use phonics-based teaching approaches with your learners?

‘Phonics Resources for Older Learners’ and ‘Phonics Stories for Older Learners’ support phonics-based teaching of Entry Level Functional Skills and ESOL, and supplement the curriculum outlined in the Post-16 Phonics Toolkit.

They gradually introduce the English alphabetic code in a structured sequence, similar to that seen in the Toolkit: from simple CVC words and 4-5 sound words (Basic Code), consonant digraphs (Basic Code Plus) to the more complex aspects of our code; dealing with alternative spellings for sounds and polysyllabic words, which corresponds to the ‘One-to-Many’ section of the Toolkit.

These books can also be purchased as downloads; ideal for online teaching.
