About

Forward with Phonics was founded by Frances Woodward, a literacy tutor who has specialised in the teaching of reading using synthetic phonics since 1999.

The organisation aims to provide training, advice, support and resources for teachers of older children, adults and ESOL learners, who want to use phonics to help improve literacy skills.

Forward with Phonics produce a range of resources to help you use phonics-based teaching approaches with your learners, including decodable reading books and resources to support the use of phonics-based approaches for the teaching of functional skills. The resources are especially useful for teachers working with beginner readers and ESOL learners.
