Financial Literacy qualifications at Entry Level and Level 1

The Basic Skills Agency and the Financial Services Authority have developed a set of Financial Literacy qualifications for National Open College Network, that have now been accredited by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority. Further information on the qualifications can be found in Downloads.

A wide range of resources to support the delivery of financial literacy can be found on the website www.money-bsa.org.uk. They include sample taster session plans and schemes of work; ideas for Family Learning; an audit of current financial literacy resources; suggestions for teaching literacy and numeracy through finance in a contextualised mapping of the Adult Literacy and Numeracy Core Curricula and resources linked to financial products.

Guide books looking at the delivery of financial literacy in different settings will be available soon, along with a professional development module ‘Numeracy through Finance’.
